Healing the Body, Calming the Mind, Aligning with Nature

I’ve been practicing acupuncture for over 12 years, working with a wide range of conditions including:

  • Musculoskeletal pain and injury

  • Chronic Illness

  • Anxiety, depression, and emotional imbalance

  • Digestive issues and gut health

  • Nervous system dysregulation

  • Autoimmune conditions

  • Stress, fatigue, and overwhelm

  • Men’s Health

I work with children, teens, adults, and elders—supporting each phase of life with care, respect, and individualized attention.

What to Expect

Your first session includes a traditional Chinese medicine diagnosis, which may include pulse reading, tongue observation, and a detailed discussion of your health concerns, symptoms, and goals. I also incorporate energetic assessment through Medical Qigong, feeling into the qualities of your energy to guide treatment.

From there, I develop a personalized treatment strategy that may include:

  • Acupuncture

  • Herbal medicine

  • Moxibustion, cupping, gua sha, or topical herbal applications

During an acupuncture session, fine needles are placed at specific points to guide the flow of Qi (vital energy) through the meridian system. Most clients rest with the needles retained for about 20 minutes, often entering a state of deep relaxation.

My Acupuncture Approach

I draw on a diverse and integrated education in Chinese medicine, including:

  • Five Element Acupuncture: Working with the elemental nature of the body-mind and its emotional-energetic patterns

  • Channel Theory (Meridian System): Focusing on the dynamic flow of energy through the superficial and deep pathways

  • Organ System Acupuncture: Addressing the physiology and energetics of the internal organ networks

Every treatment is tailored to the individual. For example, a client with back pain might receive a superficial release treatment using the Bladder meridian on the back (Tai Yang level), or we may work more deeply on internal organ dynamics using the Spleen and Lung channels (Tai Yin), or Liver and Pericardium to balance emotional and physiological tension.

Acupuncture is not just a treatment for pain, but a complete system of healing that engages the physical body, emotional life, and energetic flow. It invites harmony between the body and mind, helping you to live more fully in alignment with your nature.

How Acupuncture Differs from Medical Qigong

While acupuncture uses fine needles to influence Qi at specific points, Medical Qigong is a hands-off energetic healing practice. In Qigong sessions, I guide and regulate the flow of energy through my hands, breath, and mind, helping to release blockages and restore vitality without physical contact. Both systems stem from the same classical roots, and I often combine them for deeper effect.

Acupuncture

The body’s qi flows like rivers, streams and tributaries, encompassing and interconnecting every aspect of our being. Acupuncture points are areas within and on the surface of the body where qi emerges, rising from deeper energetic levels. Every acupuncture point is associated with a meridian, each one having a different function. The appropriate acupuncture points are chosen by assessing the meridian, organ and constitution through the use of traditional Chinese medical diagnostic skills which include: Palpating the meridian channels, palpating the radial pulse, analysis of the tongue, deep listening, and observation.

Acupuncture is the insertion of fine needles into acupuncture points in order to harmonize stuck qi in any level of one’s energetic physiology

Moxibustion

Moxibustion is the burning of moxa (dried mugwort) above acupuncture points. Moxa is burned in cones, sticks and on the top of the needle handle. Moxa is used to warm and nourish qi in specific areas of the body and to also expel cold that is creating stagnation in the meridians.

Cupping

Cupping therapy is the use of glass cups that stick to the skin using suction. This suction releases stagnant qi through the pores of the skin.

Cupping

Gua Sha

Gua Sha therapy is the gentle scraping of the skin with a gua sha tool to release stagnation of qi in the muscles.
