Qigong for Presence, Receptivity & Restoration

There are moments in life when we sense that something within us is out of alignment, and in that tension, we find ourselves wanting to slow down and reorient. Besides the challenges of everyday life, we are constantly exposed to relentless streams of information, global trauma, and surface level relationships. It is no wonder many of us feel exhausted, unwell, and fragmented.

There is an emptiness we feel when ignoring the needs of the human body and the guiding whispers of the soul.

When we cultivate a quiet, intentional healing space, and commit to practices with clear guiding principles, we can set the lay the foundation for this process to begin.

Qigong is a practice of dynamic movement, stillness, posture, breath and attention that helps us cultivate this embodied awareness. It has been practiced alongside many wisdom traditions in East Asia for thousands of years to support longevity, health, and spiritual alignment.

Over the course of this series we will focus on awareness of the 3 pillars of qigong practice: the body, breath and the mind.

With these foundations in place we will practice a core qigong sequence that is introduced gradually with a brief meditation at the end of class to let the exercises settle in the body. We will repeat and refine as we apply the principles of presence and receptivity through embodied practice.

This series is for those who are drawn to exploring the inner life and methods that support the body in being a healthy, steady container for the mind.

My intention is to hold a sacred space and for all present to have an embodied experience of presence in each class.

This series may not be a good fit for those seeking a fitness-style class, quick fixes or a novelty experience.
