My Story

I discovered Chinese medicine while studying music in Boston Massachusetts where I was introduced to Chinese tea, Qi Gong ( a Chinese Internal Martial art) and meditation. Through practicing both Qi Gong and meditation I learned to direct my attention inward which led to extraordinary transformations in my life. Through this transformative process, I explored and expanded my view on health , healing and wellness. I would wander around the Boston Chinatown and visit herb shops and learned about how to drink Chinese tea. Drinking tea in the traditional way became a time for me to mindful and present. Drinking tea sparked my passion for herbal medicine. A mentor recommended I try acupuncture because I enjoyed Qi Gong and meditation so much. At that time I was studying music and practiced playing guitar and piano many hours per day while studying and completing my degree in music at Berklee College of Music . As a result of the excessive practicing and studying my fingers and wrists were very tense and achy. I was incredibly stressed and overwhelmed with the amount of school work and the prospect of “figuring out” my life’s direction.

On a trip to Peru with some friends, I received my first acupuncture treatment in a tiny clinic thirty minutes outside of Lima. I met with the practitioner who took my pulse, looked at my tongue and listened deeply to my concerns. He took me to a room with a small bamboo table, put some acupuncture needles into my legs, hands and forehead. I could not believe how wonderful I felt during and after the treatment. I noticed my breathing became deeper, I had mental clarity and calmness, and most of all my hands felt warm and loose. The tense pain in my wrist and fingers was gone to my surprise! I knew soon thereafter that I had to be a part of this medicine. I began to research Chinese Medicine and was shocked to find out that it has been practiced for thousands of years. I finally made the decision that being a practitioner of Chinese Medicine was what I wanted to do. I truly love practicing this medicine. Because it redefines the concept of “self” and recognizes the connection of mind and body, the practice of acupuncture and herbal medicine offers incredible benefits. It supports those who utilize it not only with physical and emotional symptoms, but it also making transformative changes in one’s life by learning how to take responsibility for one’s own health.

I feel honored to offer such an amazing medicine and to hold a healing space for those who come see me for treatment.
